But I can't take a nap until the Dish Network guys fixes our satellite. :(
I had to get up at 5 am this morning to make it to my compounding class in Sugar Land by 7:30. The lab was fun because I already know how to do that stuff. I think if I wasn't a pharmacist I would be a compounding tech....or maybe I'll just be a compounding pharmacist??
So, I finished that around 11:30 and then had to wait an hour for the Honda dealership to do an oil change on the car. If you haven't seen the new Honda Fit, you should check it out. They look really cool and they have this new black-purple combo color for 2009. I know...in absolutely no way do I need a new car. It's still fun to look.
I really don't have any pictures from this week. It would be prohibited in the compounding lab b/c of chemicals and I'm pretty sure my professors would look down on it in class. This weekend I'll take some at the Super Bowl part at my mom's house. BUT, I did read a funny story on Chron.com. You know those big digital road signs on the highway for Amber alerts and such? Well apparently in Austin somebody hacked into the system and sent out "Zombies Ahead". Ha! I thought it was pretty funny.

1-25-09
This weekend was crazy! Friday night I helped David with a lock-in for Thompson MS in Pasadena. It was from 9 pm-6 am. I attempted to sleep from 2-5 am in the back of the Fit (you would be surprised how well a bed can be made in the back with the seats down-I was impressed) but I never could get to sleep. At around 7 am David and I went to Denny's for breakfast and then I had to got to UH for a skills assessment from 8 am-4 pm. Luckily I went in the first group and was able to get home around 11. I got a few hours of real sleep before the Houston symphony. This is me in my white coat after the assessment:
Today David and I played raquet-ball and I won two out of three games!! That NEVER happens typically. We relaxed at home the rest of the day. David paid bills, as you can see.
Back to school tomorrow. I'm hoping this week will be better. :)

Not the best day
Today was so discouraging to me. I was in class from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, which does not include sitting in traffic to get there and back. Our schedule for pharm school is so busy this semester-it's almost unbearable. We have labs 3 days a week in the morning on top of class from 1-5. On top of that, we have compounding in which we have to drive to Sugar Land at 7:30 in the morning. They give quizzes to start with and they are 20% of the grade. Conveniently, you also have to make a final grade of 80% to 'pass' the class. Baytown is on the OTHER side of Houston so I'm waking up at 5 just trying to get there in time. They are also requiring that we be at the school from 8am to 4pm this Saturday for a 'skills assessment', but they won't tell us anything about it!
I seriously thought about quiting school today. I even called David and told him I was going to. Of course I haven't-but I keep asking myself if being so stressed out all the time for a career means more that just being happy. School makes me miserable, not to mention the fact that I never get to see anyone or do anything outside of classes during the semester. I don't even see my husband during the week until I'm going to sleep at night. And NOW they are taking away my Saturday too!
Maybe it's just the busy schedule hitting me all at once. Or maybe it was just a bad day and I need to get over it. I'm tired and not really sure.
No pictures today. I don't think my internet would even work enough today to upload one. It was tough enough just to get it to open this page. I'll have some this weekend.

'Back to school' week...
David and I both had Monday off this week so we went exploring in the local parks of Baytown. It was so much fun: I think I could spend my entire life outside and never get tired of it. We found two really great parks. One was a bird sanctuary off of the bay. It's also close to the San Jancinto Monument, so I got some great pictures. I think the picture with my car in it is pretty funny.
I've discovered that I'm better at taking pictures of nature than anything else. Or maybe it's just easier to take good pictures on a beautiful day??

School started this Tuesday. It's only the first week and I'm already stressed out about our schedule. It's pretty crammed this semester with tests and labs and compounding.....blah. Oh, not to mention the 200 drug cards I have to learn in 3 months. I want it to be summer right now! :)
14 more weeks....(yes, I'm counting them down already).

Happy MLK Day
This weekend has been really fun. The symphony was great and the violin soloist was amazing. I wish I could be that good on ANY instrument. The program also had the new schedule for 2009, and there are some really good concerts coming up.
Yesterday my family came over for dinner. We had turkey burgers and they were so good. Natalie has to go back to SFA today to move in. I'm at least thankful that I don't have to go through that anymore. I always hated moving all my stuff back to a dorm room for some reason. I guess it just never compared to home.

Saturday
I finally get to add more pictures! My internet hasn't been working for the past two days and it was really making me mad. They don't have an app for the iPhone either so I couldn't even add to my blog that way. :(
David and I have been spending some time outside today. It's still a little cold for me, but tomorrow is supposed to be warmer. The first picture looks like it's raining, but it's really just the sprinklers.

David and I are going to the symphony tonight! I'm excited about it. We bought season tickets a few months ago. I love getting dressed up and going together. Tonight is Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto. I'll have some pictures up tomorrow.
Have a great weekend!!

My computer is so SLOW...
Seriously, it takes forever just to upload a few pictures to my blog. But at least it's working today-sometimes it doesn't even do that....
The sunrise this morning was so pretty. I was actually up early enough to see it too! That's really good for me, considering that I've been sleeping until 10 or 11 every day for the past 2 weeks. Getting up for school next week is going to kill me. :(
I played around with my baritone today. I figured that I should play it a little more (I do kinda have a degree in music), because I know when school starts I won't have any time to. I'm ready for the weekend! David and I have symphony tickets Saturday night AND we both have Monday off. I love long weekends!

Lazy Weekend
David and I did almost nothing this weekend, but it was nice. Last week was David's first week back teaching since the holidays so I think he enjoyed the chance to relax. It was really cold too so we got to use the fireplace! I love using it-it's heat and it makes the living room look so pretty. And of course I was able to make yummy food. :)
Today I tried to get my tire fixed on the Fit. They couldn't patch the hole b/c it's on the side and THEN they wanted to charge me $85 for one tire. I don't think so....
David found a cheaper one online so it's being shipped to our house this week. Until then, I'm stuck with a spare and nowhere to go, except locally.

It's Friday!!
This morning I dealt with this:
The tire was completely flat yesterday, and I couldn't get it off the car. David had to take it off when he got home. In the process I think I hurt my knee somehow because there is a sharp pain in it when I bend my leg now. BUT, on the bright side, the weather was BEAUTIFUL again today. It just makes the cold weather that is coming tomorrow that much more depressing. These are some pictures around my house. The first is my onion plant and the other is a picture of the bees around our lemon tree (thank goodness for a good zoom, because there are a lot of them flying around!).

Day 1: Pictures 1-6
I got a great camera for Christmas, so what better way to use it than to take Heather's idea and post a picture every day? Of course when school starts I'm sure it will be more like 'post all seven pics from that week on the weekend' but it all works out in the end (Hopefully, I remember to take a picture every day!). Sooooo, here are my first pictures:

These are from New Years Eve. The fireworks in our neighborhood were CRAZY-but it was so much fun!
This is Wally, one of
our parakeets.
The rest are just pictures of random stuff at home while playing around with my camera:
