I had a test in Pharmaceutics today and the format of the questions made me so angry! Ok- the teacher would have a question:
1. Here would be a random question about cloning that was 3-4 sentences long
Then, came the answers. There were A,B,C,D with typical answers AND THEN there would be:
"E. Only A"
None of the other answers above were things like "A and B", or "C and D"- but just this random "Only A" option, even though A was already a choice. ?????
After asking about it, we were told that if we thought the answer was A, then choose E on the test..... but why the heck couldn't the answer just be A? This happened on about 5-6 questions.
I was so confused and frustrated in the first 5 minutes of the test that I know I did horribly. Literally, even if I knew the answer to the question, I honestly can't tell you that I chose the right letter on the test.

OMG....that is so funny!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry. I know how frustrating that kind of thing can be.
I used to have professors that would use big vocabulary words in the final question. I'm sure I would have known the answer if I had had a dictionary to look up the meaning of the word they were asking for. Why can't accounting professors stick to accounting and leave their tests' vocab to common language!?
Ah...just smile and be glad you'll be able to laugh about it later!
That's super gay! And horribly confusing! What kind of professor do you have?!? Hope you did good!
ReplyDeleteEllen and I took a class together at UT in which the prof gave "multiple multiple choice" tests, which means each question had "one, none, or many" answers, so you would miss the question if you didn't choose all the correct answers, or if you chose an answer when none of them were right, or if you chose more than one answer to a question that only had one answer. Talk about frustrating!
ReplyDeleteWell actually multiple multiples are the format for 90% of my classes in pharmacy school. I know the pain of those tests, but this one was just weird!
